Requirements of Regulatory Agencies |

Product shall be tested in conformance with established test procedures for measuring resistance to metal fragments and in particular to UL 752 "Standard for Safety for Bullet Resisting Equipment".

As part of the submittal process the manufacturer of the door/frame units shall submit independent test data from a recognized licensed laboratory indicating compliance of the entire unit with the bullet resistance level (Levels One through Level Eight) as specified by the project architect or engineer.

Warranty |

Material and workmanship shall be warranted by
manufacturer for a period of three (3) years from the date of supply.
Warranty shall apply to replacement or retrofit of product only. |

Doors to be 13/4” thick and shall be constructed with the manufacturer’s proprietary bullet resistant core. A wood veneer of plastic laminate shall be applied to the core. Visible wood stiles and wood rails matching the species of the face veneer shall be applied to the finished door panel. All tolerances shall be in compliance with ANSI/NWWDA standards. |

Fabrication |

General:
A. Frames and doors shall be manufacturer’s proprietary standard,
tested as part of a fully operable
assembly in conformance with
UL 752.
B. Doors shall be blanked and reinforced
for mortised templated hardware.
C. Frames and doors shall be blanked, reinforced, drilled and tapped for mortised, templated hardware.
D. Frames and doors shall be reinforced where required for surface mounted hardware.
E. Provide factory-applied, touchup primer to steel frames at areas where zinc coating has been removed during fabrication.
F. Wood doors shall be sealed and pre-finished where required.
G. Door edges shall be matching in species to that of door face veneer.

Fabrication - Frames, Welded Type |

Frame product shall be accurately mitered and welded on the inside of the profile and frame face. |

Welded joints shall be ground to a smooth, uniform finish. |
| |

. 3 |
Floor anchors shall be securely attached to each jamb profile. |
| |
|
. 4 |
Weld in two (2) temporary jamb spreaders per frame to maintain proper alignment during shipment. |

Glazing stops shall be accurately fitted, butted at corners and fastened to frame sections with counter-sunk, oval head, sheet metal, tamperproof screws.

Fabrication - Doors |

Doors shall be swing type, flush, with provision for bullet resistant glass as indicated on schedules. |

Core shall be proprietary bullet resistant core as tested by manufacturer to meet specified bullet resistant rating. |

. 3 |
Door edges shall be matching in species to that of door face veneer. |
| |

. 4 |
Doors shall be sealed and pre-finished (where required).

Bullet resistant glazing shall be factory pre-installed and shall conform to the bullet resistant rating of the door/frame unit. |
Part 3 - Execution |

Site Storage and Protection of Materials |

All materials shall be thoroughly inspected upon receipt and all discrepancies, deficiencies and/or damages shall be immediately reported in writing to the supplier.

Installation |

Set frames plumb, square, level and at correct elevation in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. |

Secure anchorages and connections to adjacent construction. |

Make allowance for deflection to ensure structural loads are not transmitted to frame product. |

. 4 |
Mask glazing prior to on-site painting. |

Install doors and hardware in accordance with hardware templates and manufacturer’s instructions. |

Adjust operable parts for correct clearances and function.
