Install fire labelled steel door and frame products in accordance with NFPA-80, current edition, except where specified otherwise.

Warranty |

Material and workmanship shall be warranted by the manufacturer for a period of five (5) years from the date of supply. Warranty shall apply to replacement or retrofit of product only.

Steel: Commercial grade, zinc coated steel to ASTM A653. |

Door core material to be the following:
A : Honeycomb:Structural small cell (1" max) kraft paper "honeycomb".
B : Lead: Rolled pure sheet lead meeting ASTM B749 current edition. Weight and thickness of lead as required to shield against radiation as determined by specifier.
C : Balance of core materials used in the door core shall be in accordance with manufacturer's proprietary design. |

Fabrication |
| |
|
. 1 |
General:
A : Doors and frames shall be swing type with provision for glass where required.
B : Frames and doors shall be blanked, reinforced, drilled and tapped for mortised, templated hardware.
C : Frames and doors shall be reinforced, where required for surface mounted hardware. Drilling and tapping shall be by others, on site, at time of installation.
D : Provide factory-applied, touch-up primer at areas where zinc coating has been removed during fabrication.

Fabrication - Frames, Welded Type |

|

Frame product shall be accurately mitred and securely welded on the inside of the profile. |

. 2 |
Welded joints shall be ground to a smooth, uniform finish. |
| |
|
. 3 |
Floor anchors shall be securely attached to the inside of each jamb profile. |
| |
|
. 4 |
Weld in two (2) temporary jamb spreaders per frame to maintain proper alignment during shipment. |

. 5 |
Glazing stops shall be accurately fitted, butted at corners and fastened to frame sections with counter-sunk, oval head, sheet metal screws. |

Lead shall be securely attached to inside of frame profile from jamb return to jamb stop on the door side of frame only.

2 . 4 |
Fabrication - Doors |
| |
|
. 1 |
General
A : Doors shall be swing type, flush, with provision for glass openings as indicated on schedules.
B : Longitudinal edges shall be (mechanically inter-locked) (seamless). Seams shall be (visible) (welded, filled and ground smooth).
C : Top and bottom of doors shall be provided with inverted, recessed, spot welded channels. Exterior doors shall be provided with flush steel top caps.
D : Each face sheet shall be formed from (16)(18) gauge sheet with honeycomb core laminated to door core.
E : Lead shall be securely attached to the inside of the door face.

Part 3 - Execution |

Site Storage and Protection of Materials |

All materials shall be thoroughly inspected upon receipt and all discrepancies, deficiencies and/or damages shall be immediately reported in writing to the supplier. |

All materials shall be properly stored on planks or dunnage, out of water and covered to protect them from damage from any cause.

Installation |
| |
|
. 1 |
Set frames plumb, square, level and at correct elevation. |
| |
|
. 2 |
Fire labelled frames shall be installed in accordance with NFPA-80, most current edition. |

. 3 |
Secure anchorages and connections to adjacent construction. |
| |
|
. 4 |
Install doors and hardware in accordance with hardware templates and manufacturer's instructions. |

|
. 5 |
Install glazing and door silencers in accordance with standard industry procedures.
