Ambico bullet resistant steel doors overhead doors combine outstanding bullet resistance with the appearance and function of conventional overhead door products. Our entire range of bullet resistant products is readily available complete with rugged hardware and electrical operators that provide an easy-to-operate door system.
Features
Products are available in accordance with UL 752 standards:
UL Level One through Three to protect against medium and super power small arms.
UL Level Four to protect against rifle attack (30-06 Rifle) where anticipated threat levels are extremely high.
UL Levels Five through Eight to protect against military assault weapons.
Full engineering capability to design and manufacture bullet resistant overhead door and hardware assemblies to meet the demanding performance requirements of the end user.
Multi-leaf design integrates sectional steel panels that telescope easily above the header of the door opening. A rugged counter-weight system supports the movement of individual door sections faultlessly.
Electrical operators and accessories operate the entire assembly in accordance with up to date NEMA standards.
Testing of assemblies by independent laboratories complies with current test standards for bullet resistance.
Factory personnel are available on demand to oversee product installation anywhere in the world.
What is a bullet resistant overhead door? This is a highly engineered, multi-leaf door assembly that combines bullet resistant panels designed to operate with upward-acting, counter-weight overhead door hardware. The entire assembly is designed to withstand ballistic impact from a range of handguns and rifles. AMBICO bullet resistant products have been laboratory tested and are independently certified by professional engineers.
Can a bullet resistant door stop any type of bullet fired at it?
Bullet resistant doors are subject to the criteria established in the document UL 752. Eight distinct "levels" of bullet resistance are established ranging from a small .38 handgun (Level I) through to a 762 high powered military assault rifle (Level VIII). When selecting an AMBICO bullet resistant door and frame do so with reference to the anticipated threat - please refer to Table 1 below. If you are uncertain about your choice ask one of our professional salespeople for advice or e-mail us with your query.
