AMBICO LIMITED’S LATEST INDUSTRY INNOVATION: “MARINE DOOR” MEETING
A-60 (IMO) PERFORMANCE STANDARD

November, 2005: AMBICO Limited is excited to announce the successful fire testing of an A-60 Marine Door under the U.S. Coast Guard approval category 164.136. The door is a swinging door, constructed of stainless steel with a 127 x 286 mm window.

The tests were conducted on June 30, 2005 at Southwest Research Institute in accordance with IMO Resolution A.754(18), Recommendation on Fire Resistance Tests for ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘F’ Class Division, November 4, 1993 Edition, for a duration of one hour.

Marine doors must meet a number of criteria in conformance with International Marine Organization (IMO) standards:

  • an A-60 fire rating
  • temperature rise requirements
  • positive pressure standards

AMBICO Marine Doors are available in a range of materials such as #304 and #316 stainless steel or galvanneal steel.

Applications include:

  • Ships and other lake/sea/ocean carriers
