TEST PROGRAM
August 1, 2002: AMBICO Limited is pleased to announce the results of dynamic blast tests recently completed by a leading independent laboratory, on our door and frame products.
AMBICO Limited has long been acknowledged as a leader in the manufacture of blast resistant doors and frames - units which have withstood the most stringent testing available. Over the past months AMBICO Limited has devoted significant research and development resources to the testing of all its products. The performance of AMBICO blast resistant door and frame products has now been confirmed to be of the highest caliber, through leading-edge testing under "dynamic" live-load conditions.
In the past, "static" pressure resistance testing was performed by subjecting a door, frame and hardware to an ever-increasing pressure load to the point where the product failed. "Dynamic" testing more closely simulates an actual explosive event, accurately providing the response of a door, frame and hardware unit to such conditions. The product is subjected to measured blast/loads of pressure, and responses are recorded.

Dynamic testing has confirmed the performance ratings of AMBICO blast resistant door and frame products to the highest levels required by architects and engineers worldwide.
The photographs below illustrate the method used for testing the door and frame units. The two small buildings to the right of the blast center contained door and window test subjects. The buildings were 14' in height, indicating the immensity of the fire-ball created by the explosion.
